Augmented Reality Based Fashion Store

Published: 28 September 2023 Publication History

Abstract

By connecting the divide between in-store and online purchases, augmented reality (AR) holds immense promise for enhancing the customer journey in the fashion retail industry. Leading enterprises are adopting AR to address customer challenges and enrich the shopping encounter, even though the current utilization rate remains low at 1%. AR in fashion retail empowers companies to transform their product catalogs into captivating 3D experiences, offering customers an engaging, interactive, and educational way to explore products. Furthermore, AR not only resolves sizing issues and reduces return rates, but it also has the potential to eventually boost consumer satisfaction and loyalty. Moreover, AR facilitates virtual clothing trials, making it a perfect match for fashion enthusiasts. Various retailers are testing the waters with AR to attract a larger customer base, while Walmart leverages this technology to expedite item delivery and movement. In summary, augmented reality (AR) stands as an innovative and forward-thinking technology with the power to reshape the apparel retail sector, granting consumers a personalized, enjoyable, and seamless buying experience.
