Based on Regression Analysis Assessing the Impact of Quality 4.0 on Enterprises Innovation Performance

Published: 28 December 2023 Publication History

Abstract

Quality management in the era of Industry 4.0 (also known as Quality 4.0) is of great significance, which is related to the realization of China's national strategy of "Quality Strong Country". This paper takes 133 A-share listed enterprises in Zhejiang Province, which have won quality awards from 2011 to 2020, as a sample. We adopt the coupling coordination model to measure the quality 4.0 maturity of enterprises, and construct a multiple regression model to test the impact of quality 4.0 maturity on the innovation performance of enterprises. The empirical results show that quality 4.0 can significantly improve the innovation performance of enterprises, but the relationship between the two is not inverted U-shaped. When heterogeneity is taken into account, the conclusion holds equally for firms with different characteristics. The findings expand the research boundaries of Quality 4.0 and have certain theoretical and practical value for improving the innovation performance of enterprises. It also provides empirical evidence for promoting China's quality development and realizing the goal of a "Quality Country".
