Enhancing Smart Service Development: Embedding Image Recognition Capabilities within the xDataAPI

Published: 11 June 2024 Publication History

Abstract

This paper introduces the xData API within the xData Platform, which supports the development of smart services by analyzing and integrating a wide range of sensing data to provide appropriate action support in complex real-world situations. The focus is particularly on the newly implemented Image Recognition API. The xData API, as a part of the xData Platform, offers a set of common functions as a WebAPI, aligning with the data integration analysis framework for application development. The Image Recognition API, a component of the xData API, can be used for image classification, object detection, image segmentation, and video classification. It is characterized by its support for diverse models and the flexibility in managing settings and training sessions. With the introduction of this API, we anticipate enhanced collaboration between the information assets within the xData Platform and external resources, further accelerating data analysis and the development of smart services.
