The Impact of Counselor E-Leadership on Student Followership Based on Social Information Processing Theory

Abstract

In the context of the digital era, profound changes are occurring in people's production and lifestyle, leading to corresponding transformations in organizational forms and leadership processes. Particularly in the field of higher education, the characteristics of the groups faced by ideological and political education are undergoing significant changes in the digital era.This paper presents an action research study on the relationship between counselor E-Leadership and student followership, utilizing a structural equation model to examine the connections among E-Leadership, Family-like Exchange, and student followership. The research findings indicate: (1) a positive correlation between counselor E-Leadership and Family-like Exchange; (2) a positive correlation between Family-like Exchange and followership; (3) a positive correlation between counselor E-Leadership and student followership; (4) Family-like Exchange plays a mediating role between counselor E-Leadership and student followership. The summary and refinement of the research results lay the theoretical foundation and direction for future studies.
