Curriculum '80: Recommendations & guidelines for community & junior college curriculum

Published: 01 January 1980 Publication History

Abstract

This session will provide a summary of the first ACM curriculum recommendations for the community and junior college associate and vocational technical level of education. The publication of this report represents the culmination of five years of work by the Curriculum Committee on Computer Education, Subcommittee for Community and Junior Colleges
Curriculum '80 addresses three areas: computer programming, computer operations, and data entry operations. The report gives, for each of these three, topical outlines of subject matter to be taught, lists of resources needed, and suggestions for articulation and continued relevance. The guidelines should be of benefit to those who wish to begin a new program of study, as well as to those who wish to improve and update an existing program.
