Potaların daha yoğun ele geçtiği 16 No’lu yapı üretimle ilişkili olmalıdır.

symbolic meaning in ancient societies. In Anatolian archaeology, these animals are present in assemblages from
the Early Neolithic to the Iron Age. Furthermore, there is evidence that leopards still live-in modern-day Anatolia.
Although Panthera remains are present at different archaeological sites spanning multiple periods in
Anatolia, an in-depth study of these bones has yet to be completed. In this study, we present the case of a distal
humerus of from Neolithic period layers at Yes¸ilova H¨oyük, and three mandible fragments from the Bronze Age
layers at Yassıtepe H¨oyük. Our detailed morphological and metric analysis indicates that the humerus can be
attributed to a lion (Panthera leo) and the mandible fragments to two male individuals of the leopard species
(Panthera pardus). In addition to presenting new data on the genus Panthera in ancient Anatolia, we also aim to
offer a new perspective to zooarchaeology studies using detailed morphological and metric data of faunal elements
in the archaeological record.

The aim of this project is to consider the local historical environment and the associated cultural heritage using a different method of instruction; the use of child education. "The Time Travel Project" takes place at the archaeological site of Yesilova, the oldest site in Izmir. Until recently it was widely accepted that the oldest periods represented in the archaeological history of the Izmir region dated barely beyond five thousand years before the present. Recent investigations at Yesilova have resulted in a complete alteration of this perspective as the data obtained date the site back to as early as 8500 years ago. The earliest levels above virgin soil lie 4-5 meters beneath the topsoil and date to the Early Neolithic (6500 BC). The later Neolithic levels yield the richest finds although the mound continued to be settled during the Chalcolithic Period as well. Following continued events of flooding, the site was abandoned and in time it became covered deeply by alluvial deposits. The Time Travel Project at Yesilova allows children and adults to experience the past using all five senses. Students dress up in costumes of the past and actually actively partake in past activities. This naturally leads to an intense understanding of past lifeways and results in the hands-on acquisition of knowledge.

Mycenaean period elites in Greece did not differ from the general population and included both people with some steppe ancestry and others, like the Griffin Warrior, without it. Similarly, people in the central area of the Urartian Kingdom around Lake Van lacked the steppe ancestry characteristic of the kingdom’s northern provinces. Anatolia exhibited extraordinary continuity down to the Roman and Byzantine periods, with its people serving as the demographic core of much of the Roman Empire, including the city of Rome itself. During medieval times, migrations associated with Slavic and Turkic speakers profoundly affected the region.

It is seen that these Achaemenid bowls were unearthed during the excavation that was carried out at two different sectors of the city including the G14 Well and residential areas. Considering the locations of finding the aforementioned ceramics, it was observed that the examples of these bowls that probably belonged to Anatolian production were acquired from within the G14 Well that is approximately dated to the firtst quarter of 4th century from a single area on the mound. It is striking that, except for two sample, no finds of this type could be acquired from the residential areas of the mound that had been excavated for years. While it is very difficult to come to a precise decision regarding the dates and locations of production of these ceramics that are believed to be produced by Anatolians except for the Attica imports, considering the density in the form and close similarities with the Sardis examples, it may be suggested that these ceramics could have been produced somewhere in Anatolia, in Sardis or even at a close distance to Smyrna between the 5th and first quarter of 4 th centuries BCE. These bowls, which are worth noting due to their position as tangible evidence for Persian culture, also pose as clear evidence that the material culture of Smyrna experienced some substantial changes after the Persian rule.
