This chapter aims to place this editorial act in the wider context of the output of Vascosan’s workshop which sold a number of printed works – some of them illustrated – containing information about distant lands recently visited by European travellers. Appearing alongside the translations we find astronomical and cosmographical treatises and universal histories in Latin containing information about recent Iberian expeditions and conquests. This chapter seeks to understand the resources deployed by the printer for this editorial programme and to define his shop as an ideal place for transmitting knowledge about the world, a place which contributed to the construction of a new geographical culture in the Renaissance
