The goal of the 2002-2003 Sandia National Laboratories Computer Science Clinic Project was to cre... more The goal of the 2002-2003 Sandia National Laboratories Computer Science Clinic Project was to create a tool for simultaneous visualization of several different reductions of multi-dimensional data sets and their analysis. Analysis was done by implementing manual clustering and several automatic clustering algorithms including k-means, linkages, and DBSCAN density. Validity metrics were implemented to quantitatively compare different clusterings of the same data, assess the relative fitness of a clustering, and determine the likelihood that a clustering is different from a random one. The tool was given to Sandia and was used to analyze data sets ranging from journal cross-citations to genomics data. Contents
