Legislative Assembly elections were held in Indian state of West Bengal in 1967 to elect 280 members to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly.[1] United Front led by Ajoy Mukherjee won majority of seats in the election, and formed the first non-Congress government of the state.[2]

editUnited Front led by Ajoy Mukherjee formed the Government. United Front was the combination of People's United Left Front, an electoral combination of CPI, the Bangla Congress, AIFB and BPI[4] with United Left Front, comprising CPI(M), SSP, SUCI(C), MFB, RCPI, WPI and the RSP.[4]
