The 2025 Eliteserien will be the 81st season of top-tier football in Norway. This is the ninth season of Eliteserien after rebranding from Tippeligaen.

The season is scheduled to start on 29 March 2025 and end on 30 November 2025, not including play-off matches.[1]

Bodø/Glimt are the defending champions. Vålerenga and Bryne are set to join as the promoted clubs from the 2024 Norwegian First Division. They will replace Lillestrøm and Odd, who were relegated to the 2025 Norwegian First Division.

Teams

Sixteen teams will compete in the league – the top fourteen teams from the previous season and two teams promoted from the First Division. The promoted teams are Vålerenga and Bryne, who were promoted after respectively 1 and 21 seasons absent. They will replace Lillestrøm and Odd, ending their top flight spells of 4 and 16 years respectively.

Relegation play-offs

The 14th-placed team in Eliteserien will face the winners of the First Division promotion play-offs over two legs to decide who will play in Eliteserien next season.
