Fictional character biography
editTeen Titans
editToni Monetti is the daughter of a former U.S. Senator from New Jersey. Unbeknownst to her, she and several other teens are alien hybrids created by the H'San Natall. With the funding of Loren Jupiter, they join the Teen Titans, with Toni becoming Argent.[2] When members Prysm and Fringe decide to stay in space, the team disbands.[1]
The Titans
editWhen the original five Titans, Nightwing, Troia, Flash, Tempest, and Arsenal, reform the Teen Titans in the wake of the Technis Imperative conflict, Argent is invited to join.[3] She later learns that her father is a distributor of the drug Velocity 9 and allows him to be arrested.[4]
During the Day of Judgment event, the Spectre turns Argent's eyes into larvae. She and other heroes affected are restored by the Sentinels of Magic.
When the Teen Titans are once again reformed by former members Cyborg, Starfire, and Beast Boy, Argent is not invited. However, she remains an ally of the Teen Titans.[1] In One Year Later, Argent dates and later breaks up with teammate Molecule.
Final Crisis and later appearances
editAt some point, Argent falls victim to the Dark Side Club, and is forced to fight other captive metahumans at the behest of the New Gods.[5] Argent is later rescued by Miss Martian, who takes her and the other former prisoners to Titans Tower to rest. While there, Argent is offered a spot on the Teen Titans by Wonder Girl, but declines.[6]
Powers and abilities
editArgent can generate solid energy constructs out of silver plasma, such as protective shields, daggers, and battering rams. While she initially could not fly, she can create slides and flying platforms to carry herself and others through the air. Her silver plasma energy is said to be of a similar wavelength to a Green Lantern's power ring. In the future setting of JLA: Rock of Ages, Argent's powers evolve to the point where she can fly and create more complex constructs, such as semi-sentient energy creatures.
In other media
edit- Argent appears in Teen Titans, voiced by Hynden Walch.[7] This version is an honorary member of the titular team who possesses red energy constructs and an interest in fashion.
- Argent appears in Teen Titans Go!.[8]
- Argent appears as a character summon in Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure.[9]
