Etymology

The name is derived from the personal name Nehoděj.[2]

Geography

Nehodiv is located about 19 km (12 mi) east of Klatovy and 37 km (23 mi) south of Plzeň. It lies in the Blatná Uplands. The highest point is the hill Stírka at 706 m (2,316 ft) above sea level. In the western part of the territory is located the Dolejší dráhy Nature Monument.

Nehodiv is known for a marble quarry. In 2015, the extraction was renewed.[6]

There are no railways or major roads passing through the municipality.

Sights

There are no protected cultural monuments in the municipality.[7] A landmark of the centre of Nehodiv is the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk, built in 1950.[8]
