Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 11:36, 26 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Information icon Hello, Istarek. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Draft:David Lackland Sam, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. I ask because you state that tghe photograph of Sam is your own work. This means that he posed for you, thus that you know him. Please comment on any relationship you have with him 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 11:37, 26 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

I see, I think I misunderstood "my own work" as I stated to say that I have not retrieved the picture from a website with copyright. I did not take the picture, so I will change that. Other than that, I believe my sources are reliable as they consist of articles on google scholar, and official websites of organizations. Am I missing something or, do I need to add more sources? Istarek (talk) 11:45, 26 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
It needs to be attributed to the photographer. However, that also means that you require their permission to upload it. This should be provided via the process at c:COM:VRT. Do not be alarmed if it is flagged as "Missing permission" on Commons. This is all part of the learning process. "Own work" has a very literal meaning.
I responded to your sourcing question at WP:AFCHD, and any additional questions on that are better answered there 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 12:05, 26 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I have the permission of the person in the photograph, would that not be sufficient? Istarek (talk) 13:00, 26 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
