Talk:1894 Istanbul earthquake

Change of name

edit

The recent name change does not make sense. The earthquake is known in all sources as the "1894 Istanbul earthquake" - generally on google [1], on Google Books [2] and finally on Google Scholar [3]. Compare this with "1894 Constantinople earthquake" google [4], books [5] & scholar [6], which together give only this wikipedia article. Mikenorton (talk) 18:25, 1 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

You're right. I fixed this by reverting the move and other changes. If the original editor wants to discuss the change, this talk page is available. Rupert Clayton (talk) 05:26, 2 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

And of course I can't make that change because we already have a redirect page with that name. Here's hoping some admin will implement consensus soon... Rupert Clayton (talk) 04:55, 12 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
