Compo pick tracking
editCall me a draft nerd, but this is likely to come up. Listing them here so we don't lose them in the twitter timeline or get too confused.
- Compensation picks already activated for 2012 draft and compensation picks still held by clubs can ALL be traded in upcoming trade period.@AFL_PKeane
- So, you have to say you will use a pick at the beginning of the year, but if you then don't want to, you can trade it, interesting.
- Compensation picks activated for '12 draft that can be traded -Bulldogs (r1&rd3); GWS (rd1); Melb (rd1& mid rd1); Lions (end rd1); Rich (r2)@AFL_PKeane
- Found an AFL article explaining where these came from.
- Compensation picks yet to be activated that can be traded - GWS (mid r1 & end rd1); Geelong (r1); GC Suns (2x end r1); W Coast (rd3).@AFL_PKeane
- Will try to sort these out below, think I've got it! I've put the list below in the order that Patrick listed them above.
- Any picks received for a NET loss of free agents can be traded, but must be used in the draft this year if not traded and can't be banked.@AFL_PKeane
- I see the AFL thinks the banking idea sucks... so do I.
By my WP:OR (as the AFL doesn't like to make things easy to track) I have the following compo picks out there. some refs:Courier Mail, H-Sun,

You can bet that a few of these remaining picks will be traded this year, and according to the rules we had last year, GWS can still sign some uncontracted players this year too (not sure how it works vs free agency). Feel free to use/ignore/correct as appropriate. The-Pope (talk) 17:02, 30 September 2012 (UTC)
