La Scala
editIn the BBC's Composer of the Week on Respighi on 24/2/2022 (just about to be unavailable on BBC Sounds), Donald Macleod said that after six sell-out performances the opera was taken off, and that the sets were burned to prevent performance elsewhere. Presumably that can be sourced. Wondering also whether there was any connection between La Scala's decision and the advent of the Mussolini régime. As the score was apparently published, have there been any more recent performances (apart from the Overture, of course)? Davidships (talk) 09:47, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
