Picture

edit

The new one makes Blaze look quite ugly and the shaow hides his face a fair bit. Someone find something better on planetblaze.com (The Elfoid 17:52, 28 September 2006 (UTC))Reply

I have found a picture of Blaze on Planetblaze, is it ok to uppload it here? ///Eksbg 22:46, 31 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Can't see why not (The Elfoid 23:36, 21 May 2007 (UTC))Reply

Run to the Hills

edit

Run to the Hills, easily one of the band's best known track and a concert must, was never performed by Bayley due to this, much to the disappointment of Maiden fans.

I'm almost sure I heard Blaze sing Run to the Hills on the X-Factor tour, at Cascais, Portugal. I could be wrong, as this is just my memory, and it was more than 10 years ago. But... Dehumanizer 19:13, 21 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well it was widely documented at the time that he never did it - pretty sure that Blaze has spoken of it. (The Elfoid 23:36, 21 May 2007 (UTC))Reply

He hasn't! he told it to me! setlist is here : http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/iron-maiden/1995/cascais-pavilion-lisbon-portugal-7bd39ef4.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.165.223.157 (talk) 20:43, 20 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Singing Style

edit

Okay, I've been promoting a Singing Style section as a part of articles which deal with Heavy Metal frontmen and for some reason people don't like these. Why? With every guitarist, drummer, bass player, keyboardist etc. there is usually a mention of their influences and style. A singer is no different. His instrument is his voice. If someone feels this info doesn't warrant a section of its own, fine, but don't remove the info but instead move it to a place where it is more at home. If I'm looking for info on singers, naturally I wanna know what their style of performance is. -TheHande 20:35, 12 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

To add a little bit more validity to this section, could someone identify this man's voice type? Much appreciated! -TheHande (talk) 13:40, 19 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Tour Dates

edit

I removed a block of upcoming tour dates that appears just to have been cut and pasted from the Blaze Bayley website.

I'd suggest that this is better placed in a section dedicated to an entire tour as opposed to just pasting in the upcoming US shows.

BLAZE or Blaze?

edit

Notice that the band name has been changed from Blaze to BLAZE (all capitals).

Not sure that this is a correct edit. Yes the albums are in all capitals, but the same can be said of Blaze Bailey albums. Why are they treated differently? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.241.225.139 (talk) 20:02, 12 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

What about the spaces between the letters? So it *is* a unique characertisitc? - 87.167.93.228 (talk) 21:24, 25 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Iron Maiden Fan Reception

edit

It should be noted that Bayley became the singer for Maiden after Ex-Helloween vocalist Michael Kiske was seriously considered for the new vocalist slot. According to many, Bayley was chosen because the guys in Maiden wanted the new member to be British-they didn't want an American vocalist because of potential cultural differences. It should also be noted that prior to his hiring, Bayley and Steve Harris were friends who played 'Footie' (English Soccer) together. Another reason Steve Harris ultimately chose Blaze as singer was because he wanted Maiden to venture into 'darker' territories for the 'X-Factor'album. Many fans questioned the decision when finally hearing the album and Bayley's Baritone vocal style. The fan base was certainly split when it came to Bayley becoming Bruce Dickinson's successor. This became painfully apparent during the 'X-Factor' and 'Virtual XI' tours when Bayley visibly struggled to match Dickinson's mid-to-upper register vocal style. During the latter of the tours fans even became abusive toward the new singer with Steve Harris coming to his aid at a show in Brazil. In retrospect many fans blame Harris for writing material that was more suited to Dickinson's style than Bayley's. This proved to be true once Blaze began releasing solo material after his departure from Maiden. He sounded much more comfortable and in control mostly due to his knowing what his vocal style and range were capable of. Metalmutha (talk) 22:19, 10 April 2016 (UTC)MetalmuthaReply

This is brilliant, although it's common knowledge for IM fans, I will find some proper references and add the section for you! MusicPatrol (talk) 14:54, 3 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Audio/video samples

edit

Hello fellow wikipedians with an ear for music, I think this section is a bit necessary, let alone that aside from 'Sign of the Cross' studio version, all the other performances aren't quite representative of his work. I will remove it if nobody has any objections in about a month, or try and rename it and modify it! Cheers MusicPatrol (talk) 14:29, 7 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

no Bayley-era songs appeared in the band's set list between 2004 and 2017

edit

I would like to respectfully challenge this as I saw Iron Maiden on their Brave New World Tour at Earls Court and at Birmingham Indoor Arena, both times they played Sign of the Cross and The Clansman. 80.44.97.202 (talk) 09:53, 26 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
