That Texas law

edit

To find that Texas law, effective Sept. 1, 1989, go here: http://tlo2.tlc.state.tx.us/statutes/statutes.html (From there, click on Search and then type in Erlenmeyer.)

Interesting, they make it impossible to deep link to the actual statute page. The above link is about as close as you can get. (Actually, the search button links to http://tlo2.tlc.state.tx.us/cgi-bin/statutes/search.cgi but that page redirects and comes up with a much longer URL.)

(Even though they can already track all visitors by IP address, they make a point of having the search page URL include '&CQ_USER_NAME=(your IP address)'. The statute pops up in a new window with the Address Bar hidden, but the URL includes 'CQ_SESSION_KEY=______'. And that's not looking at cookies.) -Whiner01 06:34, 20 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Does this link get you to the right document? leevclarke (talk) 01:31, 4 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

originally posted texas law

edit

There originally was a statement in here discussing a Texas law prohibiting anything labware like Erlenmeyer flasks being sold in attempt to thwart illicit methamphetamine manufacturing. This has been removed from the page after some page vandalism. Although it is clear that illicit narcotics are perceived as dangerous to society, I don't believe that reporting on legislation related to Erlenmeyer flasks and related materials on Wiki is, itself, dangerous. Therefore I am requesting the edited block of text describing the Texas law be restored to this page for completeness. Specifically, I feel it belongs on the Erlenmeyer page as Erlenmeyer flasks are one of the most known examples of laboratory glassware, having been the subject of many popular media discussions in various contexts.

please add the wikitionary link if there is any 119.30.32.212 (talk) 15:05, 24 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Message box: sufficiency of cites

edit

In the last four months five citations were added to the article. How can the message box at the beginning of the article be deleted? --Katepsin (talk) 11:34, 23 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

I have removed {{refimprove}}. --Taweetham (talk) 06:11, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Removal of Citations Referencing Texas Law

edit

The problem with these citations is that While I can find a statute that defines "Precursor Chemical Laboratory Apparatus" and a permit process based upon the links given, it becomes that none of the materials presented within the links actually read that possession of such is otherwise illegal or criminal. The first citation to the website of a lab glassware company would be an unreliable source anyways, as their assertion is itself not properly and reliably sourced for purposes of a Wikipedia reference. Therefore, that reference violates attribution. The second reference needs to point to a more specific place in the material to be acceptable, and I could not find anything that serves reliably, but rather only that infers in a way that is not cohesive enough to constitute a proper reference. Therefore, the references have been removed and a citation need tag added. 24.155.244.245 (talk) 15:25, 21 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
