Iranian dams
editIran has at least 3 dams planned for this river and one seems to be under preliminary construction. The one under construction is the Sardasht Dam near Sardasht, West Azerbaijan on the Zap. Coords derived from similar picture here and contract award here. IWPCO calls the Zap the "Gellas River" here where two others are listed. I will do some more research and include it in the article when verified. Any input or help is appreciated.--NortyNort (Holla) 09:00, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
Name
editUse Kurdish
editThis river passes through Kurdistan (Kurdish areas), should the name came from Kurdish not arabic, it will be (Zey Bichuk) not current name. | Serchia (talk) 11:58, 23 January 2016 (UTC)
- I think the English WP usually uses the name that is most common in English sources, and that is probably the Zab rather than the Kurdish name. Best, --Zoeperkoe (talk) 14:12, 23 January 2016 (UTC)
Don't get the Arabic wrong
editThis source has Nahr al-Zab al-Saghir, so we should double check that an archaic name isn't being cited from the EI article. — LlywelynII 14:52, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
