Talk:Live and Let Die (song)

Why Mention Guns and Roses?

edit

They suck and everyone knows it. Why mention them? It does a total diservice to Sir Paul. Get rid of the puke reference of G&R.

BARF!

Let's not be slaves to the record company B.S. VOMIT!

edit

I don't know who keeps trying to attribute "Bohemian Rhapsody" to Paul McCartney, but either find a *LOT* of reliable sources that say as much, or quit saying that the song was based on "Live and Let Die."

What does it mean?

edit

So what does the song mean? What does "Live and let die" mean? --72.202.150.92 03:08, 22 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

See Live and Let Die (novel). It's a take-off from the common phrase (as noted in the song's lyrics) "live and let live".Terry Thorgaard (talk) 14:00, 10 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Diamonds Are Forever OST.jpg

edit

Image:Diamonds Are Forever OST.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:28, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

How is Penn's opinion of the lyrics at all notable? I'll delete it soon unless someone voices an objection. - — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.200.246.115 (talk) 14:46, 2 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Janis Joplin Cover

edit

Janis Joplin also covered "Live and Let Die" --at least in live performances, but I don't have the details of when and where. I believe she appears singing it on a DVD of her live performances, but I don't have the DVD. --Swiftytomato (talk) 20:08, 13 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

That would be truly amazing, considering Joplin died in October 1970 and the song was written in 1972 at the earliest. Unless this is a DVD from beyond the grave? --Rodhullandemu 20:25, 13 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Shrek 3

edit

The song was in Shrek 3, that should be mentioned —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.86.119.65 (talk) 01:15, 22 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

It was also stated in the Wikipedia article, List of songs featured in Shrek... or shall we remove it from there as well? — Preceding unsigned comment added by L22W (talkcontribs) 19:35, 24 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

The mention of a song used in a film on the song's article is trivial. Best, yeepsi (Talk tonight) 19:48, 24 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
