editI was wondering if anyone knew of a connection between Luke Helder and Bobby Sands. Currently it is implied by this sentence, "He was born on May 5, 1981, the day when convicted IRA terrorist Bobby Sands died on hunger strike in prison." Did Helder cite Sands as an influence or is this just a coincidence, in which case I think it should be removed. Benjamin Goldenberg 04:18, 25 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Hathor: I'll see what I can dig up on this. I'd like to add some of Helders writings here - would that be out of line? I feel that his "Life on Earth" essay would be appropriate to quote, as it shows in his own words, his philosophy which inspired his actions.
Is there any information about the lethality of Helder's bombings? My understanding was that he was bombing mailboxes and that there were few, if any, injuries; could someone confirm that and put it in the article?
entire Bobby Sands reference, especially the t-word is incredibly POV Kfort 08:12, 26 September 2005 (UTC)
I removed the Bobby Sands trivia connection. I am citing the (very silly) revert war on whether Charles Darwin and Abraham Lincoln shared a birthday as precedent [1]. Majts 23:05, 8 October 2005 (UTC)
coincidental is a better word
I'm not sure if it was coincidental since he and Sands are both terrorists. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.78.234.202 (talk) 17:33, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
Helder
editI wanted to say it would be okay to add his writting to this database as a way to let people know more about him and where his words and inspiration come from. Although at the time of these actions he was not in the proper frame of mind, he is a very knowledgeable and talented person with much to share with people. I speak on his behalf when I say he would like his words to be spread with the general public. Please be sure that you have the original writtens that have not been tampered with if you are to post them.

- Thats nice but we'd need written permission from him directly that acknowledges he is releasing all of his writings into public domain. The Parsnip! 21:13, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Musical connection
editThe mention of the band seems 100% irrelevant to this article. The band was not successful at all, even locally. For a guy who sent bombs to random strangers, this seems insignificant - it's like including a pokemon club that he set up when he was 15. To include it seems like an attempt to profit from of the actions of an aspiring murderer (see the ebay copies selling for +$200). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 163.252.218.119 (talk) 14:48, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed. Seems more like minute trivia than actual information.
- I completely disagree. The media discussed his music, his band, etc. at great length. Kindzmarauli (talk) 08:02, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
