Hi, I'm Lee Maxwell, a.k.a. gladmax. I am not sure what to put in here yet, but it seemed time to put something here.
I live in Asbury Park, NJ. I am by profession a Macintosh computer consultant and troubleshooter. I also work with PCs and I am learning Linux, and so far like Ubuntu. I am a Quaker. I once was a newspaper journalist and want to begin writing again. BTW, I'm still a wikipedia newbie, but have written a few articles and edited a bunch more, but mostly for typos (now, if I could only catch my own!).
Some of my interests are (wikified, of course):
- Apple Macintosh computers, Mac OS X, Adobe software, computer graphics (print and web)
- Religious Society of Friends, religion and philosophy, the spirit of the universe, right sharing of the world's resources
- Haiku and other poetry (but, please HP, no forced rhyme!)
- Linux, which I am learning.
- Journalism, freedom of information, freedom of speech, the right to vote, other basic human rights
- Good and honest government that helps people, not persecutes or explots them (little bit of a hot-button issue)
- History and economics (TANSTAAFL)
- Psychology and Sociology, but I prefer that which is impirically based, not the theory of the year
- Sex (of course); heterosexuality (the rest is confidential)
- Recreational bicycling
- Science fiction and science fantasy and that which falls somewhere in between, like Star Trek (especailly STDS9)
- Music of all kinds: Classical, Jazz, much Rock, Bluegrass and old timey, Ambient, Movie and TV music, salsa, tejana, etc.
Some articles I am proud to say I created and wrote: Colonel Tye, Joshua Huddy, Newsroom, APCUG, Computer User Group, Macintosh User Group. Nothing earthshaking, but not a bad start.
That's enough for now.
