Saves
"Saves" are the articles that I advocated keeping in WP:AfD, made non-trivial edits to in support of their retention, and which were, in fact, retained. I'm not claiming sole credit for any of these, just keeping track of time spent on things that didn't deserve to be deleted when they could have been improved. A save, in my mind, is a slight mark against either the nominating editor who nominated a fixable article for deletion, the editors who had previously left it in a deletion-worthy state, or both. AfD is for things that are of questionable encyclopedic value, and many articles which stink at the moment do merit Wikipedia inclusion. These are the ones I intervened at AfD to save--I didn't pick them, and wouldn't have started most of these articles, but saw potential where others did not.

Resuscitations
Deleted articles that I both undeleted (or had the text retrieved for me by an admin when I no longer was an administrator) and fixed the associated problem which had prompted the deletion. Shame that they were deleted, but this is one really good reason to give article builders admin tools.

Just wanted to give you props for recognizing the humor and responding in a humorous fashion here. I was hoping to catch a few people out, but it seems I caught almost everyone! I'd thought that sprinkling "proposal" all over the place would have made it clear. Ah well. On an unrelated note, I find it funny that WP:BS points to barnstars. The Featured Sound Main Page Proposal Voter Barnstar | ||
I was truly humbled by the overwhelming community support for the recent proposal to place featured sounds on the main page. The proposal closed on Tuesday with 57 people in support and only 2 in opposition. It should take a few weeks for everything to get coded and tested, and once that is done the community will be presented with a mock up to assess on aesthetic appeal. Finally, I invite all of you to participate in the featured sounds process itself. Whether you're a performer, an uploader, or just come across a sound file you find top quality, and that meets the featured sound criteria, you can nominate it at Wikipedia:Featured sound candidates. Featured sounds is also looking for people to help assess candidates (also at Wikipedia:Featured sound candidates.)
Thanks again for such a strong showing of support, and I hope to see you at featured sounds in the future. |
