Greetings to you in the English Wikipedia
editI understand from experience that other Wikipedias in other languages have some different guidelines to follow, so I placed a Welcome Banner above for you to use to find answers to some of your questions.
Regarding photos, if you wish to upload them to Wikimedia Commons where I first contacted you, here is the information that I think might help. I am an editor of biography articles for musicians. I opened up an account in Flickr, which is available to you in many languages. I usually contact the photographers there to request use of their photos. If they answer yes, I explain that we can not use any photos that are copyrighted. I ask the photographers to change the license from copyright to Creative Commons. There are six Creative Commons licenses, but the Wikipedia only accepts two of them: CC-BY-SA, OR CC-BY. Here is the chart we use to show them: For Polish
Flickr images have 7 different license options. There is also a public domain collection, Flickr: The Commons, uploaded by participating organizations. 2 of the 6 Creative Commons (CC) licensing options are OK here:
Flickr image info. | License | OK here? |
---|---|---|
© All rights reserved | Copyrighted | NOT OK |
Some rights reserved | CC-BY-NC-ND | NOT OK |
Some rights reserved | CC-BY-NC-SA | NOT OK |
Some rights reserved | CC-BY-NC | NOT OK |
Some rights reserved | CC-BY-ND | NOT OK |
Some rights reserved | CC-BY | OK |
Some rights reserved | CC-BY-SA | OK |
No rights reserved. | Public Domain | OK |
The icon "BY" means the image license requires attribution, as in an image is "BY" a certain person. SA is for "Share Alike". Licenses with NC ( - non-commercial use only) or ND ( - no derivative works) are not OK here. If the image is not OK, consider asking the author to release their work under a free license such as CC-BY (Creative Commons Attribution license), or CC-BY-SA (Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike)
If you want to upload any other image outside of Flickr, you must explain no copyrighted information, and still ask them to change their photo or upload it themselves to Wikimedia Commons. You may ask for a permit - ORTS that you must request from Commons.
I hope this helps you to find ways to contact others and upload your photos. You may contact me on my talk page for more questions. Happy editing! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 21:33, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification
editHi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Iowa infobox deletion
editSuch that we can estimate the future outcome, we see the estimates of experts who have considered this question. An infobox is informative, the purpose of wikipedia. Deletion is seldom a contribution. If you don't like the risky inaccuracy or imprecision of such tables you should really delete the earliest table, from the precinct caucuses, those estimates are quite wild. If you delete this again with such a pathetic excuse, I'll have you banned from the page for edit war.50.132.91.194 (talk) 05:02, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
Please check your recent edit to Iowa Republican caucuses, 2012
editHi--
I looked back on my edit of Iowa Republican caucuses, 2012 and found that somehow I had changed the size of the article by 20,358 bytes when I had just intended to repair a bad link in the article. Sorry about that. I don't know how I got that wrong. The system somehow wouldn't let me undo my change, so I simply copied and posted the 18:28, 20 May 2012 revision (the revision that preceded my bad edit). So your edit at 18:52, 23 May 2012 had to be trashed. Please take a look at the most recent revision and see whether you need to redo your edit. Thank you, and sorry again for the inconvenience.CountMacula (talk) 11:49, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
- Hi,
- There is no problem. :) Now, everything is OK. Wiki system has just counted badly the size of your edition. Greetings Bielsko (talk) 13:13, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

*The Family Corleone*
editHi, I recently read and appreciated the article you created on Ed Falco’s novel The Family Corleone. I would like to make a minor change (as well as possibly a more substantive one) and would greatly appreciate your input on the matter. If you have a moment, please read my note on the article’s talk page. Thanks much and best regards.HistoryBuff14 (talk) 15:54, 19 July 2013 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
editHello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Bielsko. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Bielsko~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disambiguation link notification for January 22
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Gasherbrum, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Adam Bielecki (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Important Notice
editThis is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
