New direct democracy articles

edit

Thanks for your recent contributions. Creating new articles on Wikipedia can be tricky, and you might like to try creating a draft of your article in draftspace or in your userspace first, which you can then ask for feedback on if necessary, with less risk of deletion. Do make sure you also read help available to you, including Your First Article and the Tutorial. You might also like to try the Article Wizard, which has an option to create a draft version. Another page you might find helpful to look over is the Wikipedia policy on synthesis, which is a type of original research, as I noticed that some of your recent creations suffered from this. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a message on my talk page or check out the Teahouse, a friendly place for newer editors to ask questions. All the best, Jr8825Talk 23:17, 17 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Just to let you know, there is an infobox for referendum articles ({{Infobox referendum}}), so I have removed your addition of Infobox election to several referendum articles. However, please don't add an infobox without filling it in with details of the referendums. You can see how to do this for multiple referendums at 2020 Liechtenstein referendum. Rejuvenate WikiProject Skepticism

edit

Hello - my name is Susan Gerbic (Sgerbic) and I'm writing to you because at some point you joined Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism. This might have been months ago - or even years ago. With the best of intentions the project was created years ago, and sadly like many WikiProjects has started to go dormant. A group of us are attempting to revitalize the Skepticism project, already we have begun to clean up the main page and I've just redone the participant page. No one is in charge of this project, it is member directed, which might have been the reason it almost went dormant. We are attempting to bring back conversations on the talk page and have two subprojects as well, in the hopes that it might spark involvement and a way of getting to know each other better. One was created several years ago but is very well organized and a lot of progress was made, Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Skeptical organisations in Europe. The other I created a couple weeks ago, it is very simple and has a silly name Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Skepticism Stub Sub-Project Project (SSSPP). This sub-project runs from March 1 to June 1, 2022. We are attempting to rewrite skepticism stubs and add them to this list. As you can see we have already made progress.

The reason I'm writing to you now is because we would love to have you come back to the project and become involved, either by working on one of the sub-projects, proposing your own (and managing it), or just hanging out on the talk page getting to know the other editors and maybe donate some of your wisdom to some of the conversations. As I said, no one is in charge, so if you have something in mind you would like to see done, please suggest it on the talk page and hopefully others will agree. Please add the project to your watchlist, update your personal user page showing you are a proud member of WikiProject Skepticism. And DIVE in, this is what the work list looks like [1] frightening at first glance, but we have already started chipping away at it.

The Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Participants page has gone though a giant change - you may want to update your information. And of course if this project no longer interests you, please remove your name from the participant list, we would hate to see you go, but completely understand.

Thank you for your time, I hope to edit with you in the future.Sgerbic (talk) 06:55, 17 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Language Status

edit

Hi mate, thanks for your help with the idea about including Language Status in the Infobox. Hope you don't mind but I played in your sandbox to update NI (Not Included) to NE (Not Endangered). But I can't figure out how to make this reflect in your box at Template:Infobox_language/testcases#Language_status_test. It still says NI instead of NE. Could you either update that or teach me how to please? Ggdivhjkjl (talk) 16:33, 30 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Arizona ballot propositions

edit

Thanks for your work updating the List of Arizona ballot propositions! I wanted to let you know that that one was actually next on my list - I was planning on redoing the tables to match what's in List of Washington ballot measures and the others that I've made/updated. I just wanted to make sure you were aware because if you'd rather handle the update yourself and keep stuff internally consistent that's fine with me, but I also don't want you to do a bunch of work that might get redone. The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes

edit

Hi. Thank you for adding the "chronology" entries in the infoboxes for the last 12 canonical Sherlock Holmes stories. However, for these entries I believe you are using the order in which the stories were published in The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes, which was published in 1927. Please note that the order in which the stories are collected in the book is not the same as the chronology in which the stories were originally published between 1921 and 1927. For example, "The Mazarin Stone" (1921) was the first of these 12 stories to have been written and to appear in The Strand Magazine and "Shoscombe Old Place" (1927) was last, while in the book "The Illustrious Client" (1924) was the first story printed and "The Retired Colourman" (1926) was last. I think that Doylean bibliographers consider the chronology of first appearances to be more significant than the order the stories appeared in the book. If I can be helpful with any more information on this subject, please let me know. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 01:18, 28 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please leave them unlinked and unabbreviated, per MOS:OLINK and MOS:ACRO. It is best if these parameters are left filled on a per-article basis rather than being automatically generated by the template, as abbreviations aren't always the same worldwide. SounderBruce 01:35, 9 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Tempate:DB style

edit

Hello Bluealbion,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Tempate:DB style for deletion, because it seems to be a test. Did you know that the Wikipedia Sandbox is available for testing out edits?

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Speedy deletion nomination of Template:DB style

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Template:DB style requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2021_December_20#Template:Th-rail-color_and_other_unused/orphaned_rail_templates. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:13, 11 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Template problem

edit

I don't know anything about template coding, bur something you've done to Template:Infobox agricultural production is causing ParserFunction errors to pop up on the template page itself and on some articles in which the template is used (e.g., Sheep and Sugarcane). Could you please look into the matter and try to resolve the problem? Deor (talk) 13:56, 26 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for noticing that, found that the issue is that the template can’t calculate when they is a “,” in the world total number but can when it is a plain number. I can work on fixing Bluealbion (talk) 17:26, 26 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
I added a test case from Sheep to {{Infobox agricultural production/testcases}}. – Jonesey95 (talk) 18:04, 26 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
