African Leadership Magazine

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of African Leadership Magazine, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://africanleadership.co.uk/about/.

It is possible that the bot was mistaken and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) Speedy deletion nomination of African Leadership Magazine

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on African Leadership Magazine, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It appears to be a clear copyright infringement of http://africanleadership.co.uk/about/. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.

  • It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Ken Giami

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ken Giami requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Proposed deletion of Ken Giami

edit

The article Ken Giami has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Can't find significant coverage in independent, reliable sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. –Roscelese (talkcontribs) 19:04, 12 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Help me!

edit

Please help me with... an article I started on Wikipedia... It was nominated for deletion under the notability clause... I have edited the article and it has also been edited by other sources and verifiable references included.

There has been no more activity on the article, how do I go about removing the deletion nomination and proceeding with the article.... Ken Giami From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia [1]

Bomabenjy2 (talk) 16:08, 17 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Bomabenjy2, to say that you don't think the article should be deleted, visit this page, click "Edit" (or "Edit source"), go to the bottom and write why you don't think it should be deleted. Remember to sign with 4 tildes, ~~~~. But I see that you've already added why you don't think it should be deleted. Remember that the best arguments are ones that cite relevant guidelines which will be given more weight than unsupported statements; discussion guidelines are available. I also note that in the article, it starts, "Ken K. Giami is a visionary African businessman, entrepreneur, and media mogul. A leading voice and..." Please read Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Words to watch and note that words like the ones in italics above are generally not useful in Wikipedia. In regards to the deletion policy, note that with the deletion process on your article, you can't just stop it. You and other editors will try to reach a consensus, before an admin will close the deletion request and decide whether - based on the consensus and discussion - whether the article should be deleted or kept. The best idea would be to keep trying to improve the article, making sure you've got good sources, and to keep tracks of the deletion discussion, trying to fix any problems raised by other editors there. If you need any more help, visit the teahouse or ask another question with the {{help me}} template. Thanks.  Seagull123  Φ  18:22, 17 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

December 2015

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at User talk:Roscelese, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

I can see you've been trying to do this, but please do make an effort to do it more often. Thanks!  Seagull123  Φ  18:27, 17 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

It appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on a biased choice of users' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote—in order to influence Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ken Giami. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large. Thank you. RichardOSmith (talk) 20:23, 17 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Apologies RichardOSmith, I have written to other users not as a biased choice but to seek advice on how to improve the article and hence prevent the proposed deletion. I have not written anyone to report the nomination in a biased way or to canvas but to seek help towards improving the article.. Again I apologise... Bomabenjy2 (talk) 21:02, 17 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

I not an SPA - I am new to Wikipedia and I just needed clarification. However I will allow the due processes to be followed and whatever decisions are reached would be respected. I just thought the page was worthy to be created on WikipediaBomabenjy2 (talk) 06:33, 18 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
