Mass addition of book series to articles without discussion

edit

I see you mass-adding a series of books on various US state constitutions to multiple articles, without discussion or any indication of the value of the addition. This appears to be WP:REFSPAM. Please do not continue to add or re-add these items without getting consensus.

If you have a connection with the publisher of this series, please review WP:COI to ensure your edits are consistent with Wikipedia's conflict-of-interest policy.

Thanks. TJRC (talk) 16:04, 15 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
I have no connection to the publisher or authors of these books. I merely believe this series of books on state constitutions is unique. Each is a worthy addition to the corresponding article in Wikipedia; many of those articles do not have any book references.
Also, importantly, please note that many other state constitution articles make reference to the appropriate book in this series, or its predecessor published by Greenwood Press. I had nothing to do with inserting any of those. By inserting the references into articles that do not have them, I actually completing a job already started by others, and making the state constitution articles more uniform and complete. Hi, you unilaterally reverted my edits and suggested I achieve consensus. What procedure should I follow? DrReload (talk) 22:32, 21 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
May I have a reply, please? DrReload (talk) 23:36, 22 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm CambridgeBayWeather. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Nanook of the North, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. CambridgeBayWeather (solidly non-human), Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva 21:59, 7 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks. I put the text back in with a reference. DrReload (talk) 01:07, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Moon photo

edit

Hello, and welcome to the ranch. Noticed at Apollo 17 that the caption you added lowercased 'moon', and just wanted to say that Wikipedia style recognizes Sun, Moon, Earth, and Solar System as proper names and uppercases named astronomical bodies. 1. It's quite squarely violation of site editing policy to readd inadequately sourced material to articles after it has been removed, claiming "no valid reason" like you did on Cnut et al, see WP:BURDEN. As I plainly communicated, WP:IMDB is not a reliable source for anything, never mind whether material is actually worth having on a brand new WP:INPOPULARCULTURE section.
  2. When the relevance of content you added is challenged, it's not very convincing to say "well, I get it". Generally, if you actually have a good reason to add content, you should make your case for it on the talk page if challenged, per WP:ONUS Because the images you're adding to Cherokee syllabary seem redundant and decorative to me, I think it's clear you don't have a reason that trumps WP:GALLERY, though.

Thanks. Remsense ‥  19:48, 8 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

This was useful information. Thank you. DrReload (talk) 16:40, 9 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I do, however, disagree on the statue of the bear in Cherokee Syllabary. It illustrates the pride of that community in the syllabary, and shows how the community honors Sequoiyah's achievement. DrReload (talk) 16:44, 9 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to List of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power characters, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. You have been warned about re-adding unsourced information before. If you disagree with my revert, please follow WP:BRD and take your concerns to the talk page rather than starting an edit war. - adamstom97 (talk) 08:21, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Again, please respect WP:BRD and take your concerns to the talk page. Stop edit warring. - adamstom97 (talk) 19:42, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
How about YOU follow WP:ROWN and stop unnecessarily undoing other people's work. YOU are the one who is edit warring. Am I supposed to bow down to you because you have so many edits under your belt? I guess it's easy to get that many edits when you go around reverting other people's contributions. Fine, I may now go waste time on the talk page. I admit this particular trivial edit is not exactly the hill I want to die on--I am just sick and tired of people like you reverting valid edits. I find your actions contemptible. DrReload (talk) 21:25, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
And by the way, your claim that my edit was "unsourced" is pure drivel. The EPISODE ITSELF IS THE SOURCE. At most, I could provide a time marker for the scene. Do you imagine that people publish articles on every quote in every episode of a series? Do you think I can find a source like THIS fictitious example to cite: "As pointed out by Smith 2024a, p. 12, In Episode X of Season Y of The Rings of Power, Galadriel says..." Give me a break. THE EPISODE ITSELF IS THE SOURCE. DrReload (talk) 21:29, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I have responded to these points at the talk page. You need to get off your high horse and acknowledge that you are not perfect and free to do whatever you want, you made a change that multiple editors have reverted for multiple valid reasons. Learn from that rather than edit warring and throwing out personal attacks. - adamstom97 (talk) 06:50, 1 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
You win this time. As for your high-handed lectures and moral instruction, keep them to yourself. Now here's a tip for YOU: try discussion BEFORE reversion. DrReload (talk) 20:48, 2 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
