Regarding warning for Janey Godley edit.

edit

Hello Eyer. I hope you are having a pleasant day.

I am writing to you because I just recently received a notification that my IP address has been logged for editing a Wikipedia article about Janey Godley. I was an anonymous user who frequently browsed Wikipedia for many purposes either seeing certain subjects out of curiosity or learning about one and only created an account on here to respond to your message. I do not know who this Janey Godley is and do not recall having ever edited anything on that page let alone any other page on Wikipedia. Surely this is a mistake? If you want to talk more about this, you can contact me on here.

Have a good one.

I mainly use two tools for this work: wikEd (select this under the "Gadget" tab in your preferences) and AutoWikiBrowser (see WP:AWB). The first is like a paring knife, and the second like a food processor. AWB runs most easily under Windows, and you will need to register. Both of them are more useful if you learn a little RegEx, but even without that knowledge you can change "former First Lady" to "former first lady". Just press the button for "Search is case sensitive" in wikEd or check the "Case sensitive" button in your AWB rule. Let me know if you need help, and happy editing! ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:22, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
