Assessments of Lighthouse Articles

edit

JacobS, Thank you for taking the time to assess Charity Island Light‎, DeTour Reef Light‎ and Port Sanilac Light, and to let me know about it. The lack of credible assessments is a weakness in the article creation and improvement process. One does this work, and gets no feedback at all. So you have done a service. Of course, we have a whole lot of articles to assess (including lighthouses), and not enough people to do it; so I don't take the omission personally. It is complicated by the fact that one can't assess the articles you've worked on, so the editors with interest in the subject wind up being disqualified. Best regards, and happy editing and assessing. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 12:40, 25 February 2010 (UTC) StanReply

Albania Task Force

edit

Hi. I deleted your name from Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/Albania/Participants, because it's now in Wikipedia:WikiProject Albania/Members. The former will eventually redirect to the latter. You don't need to do anything, I'm just informing you of this change. Thank you for your contributions made on Albania topics, please consider coming back and making some more, :-). --Sulmues talk 14:49, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:PawnProgrammingInterface.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.

S/stub tags

edit

Hi, When you add a stub tag to an article as you did at River Lumi, Zambia, please remember that they go after everything except inter-language links (see WP:FOOTERS). It is also more helpful to use a lower-case "s", because that saves the stub-sorter from having to retype the "s". Thanks. PamD 15:36, 4 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New deal for page patrollers

edit

Hi JacobS,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:28, 13 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
