What does 🔔 mean?

edit

It means: Please ping me if you would like a reply.

One easy way to do this is is to start your reply with {{Reply to|N8wilson}}. You must also sign your post using ~~~~ for this to work as intended. If you include these pieces across more than one edit (i.e. you need to click "Publish changes" twice or more) then I will not be notified and you'll need to check out the help for fixing pings.

If you want to use the same style to request that other editors ping you, open your preferences and add the following text to the end of your signature. You must also make sure the box is checked to treat your signature as wiki markup.

<span title="Please ping me for reply" style="cursor:help">🔔</span>

DYK for Preighter

edit

On 8 June 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Preighter, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that one airline has flown more than 5,600 preighter flights, carrying cargo in place of passengers? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Preighter. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Preighter), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

edit
Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:00, 23 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

DYK for Anti-War Committee of Russia

edit

On 17 April 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Anti-War Committee of Russia, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, a diverse group of exiled Russian public figures formed the Anti-War Committee of Russia to unite different political movements to oppose the war? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Anti-War Committee of Russia. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Anti-War Committee of Russia), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Pending changes reviewer granted

edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Nicely done

edit

I don't believe we've interacted before, but just wanted to say that this edit, restoring status quo against your own preference based on an ongoing discussion that hadn't reached consensus yet, is one of the marks of a really good editor. So, thanks for that, and it's worth singling out for recognition here. It's particularly valuable at articles like that one, which tends to generate more heat than light, sometimes. As far as including the link, or not, I don't actually care how that comes out, just trying to do right by the article and the guidelines, as are you, obviously. So even if at the surface we might "disagree" about some link at some article, actually we're in agreement about the more important underlying issues. I don't shy from controversial articles, but I don't get caught up in them, either, and I'd be happy to collaborate with you on that or any topic any time. Nice to "meet" you, and happy editing! Mathglot (talk) 18:19, 3 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for taking the time to leave this note Mathglot. I'd really like to encourage you to continue this practice wherever you see the opportunity. It can make a significant difference in the motivation of editors to contribute their time and energy working on WP. Thanks for not being shy. Keep doing that too. Ping me anytime. --N8wilson 🔔 18:46, 3 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
