edit

Hi. Please stop with the image placement changes you're busy doing. If you mess up another page, you will be blocked. RegentsPark (comment) 22:27, 1 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry. I now finally understand that sometimes the picture placement things can be a little annoying and make seem things stuffed in. However, on the Foreign Relations of India page, I also added more pictures of bilateral meetings. Could you kindly inform me why that was not appropriate while editing? Eitherways, I am sorry for doing the image placement changes which in hindsight wouldn't have been liked by everyone. I promise to try help add information and update articles if required instead of being a nuisance to this wonderful community. Thank you. YmHnHm (talk) 12:53, 2 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Also could you please educate me about the difference between annoying and not annoying image addition. Thank you! YmHnHm (talk) 12:55, 2 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi YmHnHm. Thanks for responding. Generally speaking, images should not be large and should be on the right (the foreign relations page had some large images added by you). I've asked @Moxy:, an editor who has more experience with images, to take a look at your contributions and they may be able to advise you better. Meanwhile, I suggest you read WP:MOS/IMAGES to get a sense for what works and what doesn't. Apologies for the brusque note above but I had to get your attention. Images make Wikipedia more informative, accessible, and professional.

In general, when working with images:
DO:
Review the image style guide and use policy.
Give context with captions and alt text.
Try to find at least one image for each article.
Find free images, or create and upload your own.
Clean up images: crop, color-correct, etc.
Use the best file format for each image.
Use objects for scale where helpful.
Place images in the section to which they are related
DON'T:
  Don't upload non-free images.
Don't use images in place of tables or charts.
Don't use images or galleries excessively.
Don't add images that are not relevant.
Don't flip faces, text, or works of art.
  Don't set fixed image sizes.
Don't sandwich text between two images.
Don't refer to images by their placement.
