Hi! Me again! First let me apologise i admite i overreacted. I just couldnt understand somebody would post comment without even looking original article. Why even posting that comment when you didnt check it? Did you hear for proverb "First jump then say hop"? Anyway I am also wondering what do you mean by "young man from Croatia of questionable motives"? Btw. I hoped you enjoyed your stay in Croatia and Slovenia. Regards! Minnesota
editI can see where you are coming form, but I fell things on wikipedia should all look the same and as all the outher countries in the list now are equal and look the same. You sayed people will not know where Faribault is but, for someone that dose not know where it is and that would what to find out all they have to do is hit the Faribault link and they will find out.
What I did was only small but I feel it makes things look nice and neet.
Please do not repost speedily-deleted material. This is considered vandalism and can lead to you being blocked from editing. This article was previously deleted on April 29th 2006. (aeropagitica) 22:39, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- Two things:
- 1) I wasn't reposting anything. Someone at the Grinnell College page requested an article for 10/10, so I wrote it.
- 2) I have read stupid cruft articles about many other colleges and universities, none of which were speedy-deleted, and few of which went through even the normal deletion process. I don't see why 10/10 should not be given the same treatment -- at least in the form of a AfD hearing/whatever. Half of the student body attends this party; I think that constitutes notability, or at least merits a hearing.
- At the very least I would like a copy of the text I wrote. Could you get that for me? If you give me 15 minutes I am sure I could find several pages from other colleges that are far less notable. Then I want an AfD hearing.
- Thank you for writing an accusatory message to me, and thank you for jumping to conclusions about the article. Please contact me through my talk page. ..Zweifel 02:04, 30 October 2006 (UTC)..
It was a repost - the previous version was PRODded on April 29th and deleted on May 4th. Your deleted text is now at User:Zweifel/10/10. Don't repost it and go for an AfD, try a deletion review instead. Justifying the existence of one cruft article on the basis of another isn't a good idea - it's better to demonstrate how it conforms to WP:BIO instead. Lastly, sarcasm doesn't come across too well on-screen; see WP:CIVIL for details of conduct, etiquette and protocol. Regards, (aeropagitica) 07:15, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Re: The Transformation of Italian Politics, 1990-1996
editI don't think people get in trouble for recreating deleted articles, as long as the content is different/better. I certainly won't try to cause any trouble over it. If you do want to create the article in a week and a half I can take the tag off, I'd just rather it was deleted if it's going to be much longer than that. Good luck on your thesis. -P4k 02:36, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
I realize that addition should ideally have citations, but it's easily substantiated through a little web searching. It's a bit heavy-handed so just say "rvv", which means "revert vandalism". If you have concerns about verifiability, mentioning them in the article or my talk page is much more productive than something which could spark a revert war. —Dgiest c 07:36, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hey man, it's just that the "Phat Phuc Noodle Bar" image is being questioned, and since it is such a perfect image, I wanted to deflect attention from it. I'll make you a deal - we'll restore the "What the pho?" restaurants in two days if you go onto the talk page and vote in support of keeping the image. Or not. But come on, help me out!
- Anyway, uncool thing to do, sorry for that. Zweifel 07:47, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

re: Trident Seafoods
editHi There, I notice you have made several edits to this company with negative statements about their business practices. If you want to have those edits remain and not be reverted please provide sources for the statements. I am not saying I disagree with you, just that sources are needed. Comments like these need backing up. Thanks!--killing sparrows (chirp!) 22:20, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- It's true. Give me a little while to find some sources, but if I can't, I'll remove them. (Umm, I worked as a temp in the human resources department, so I can personally vouch for both statements, but that violates WP:NOR.) Zweifel 00:06, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- No doubts here. I work for Trident on St Paul Island (I have a pretty easy job and a great boss and we are far away from the Seattle office), but I am certainly no promoter of the company, I just want to see the refs so someone doesn't get pissed about it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Killing sparrows (talk • contribs) 00:10, 1 May 2007 (UTC).
Hello Zweifel, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:PCI symbol.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Zweifel/Italy1. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not readd the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 04:24, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

editDid you create this image [[5]] ?
common sense, please
editParameters now, again, redirects to parameter, and that is as it should be. I've put a disambiguation notice at the top of the article parameter saying For the journal of the U.S. Army War College, see Parameters (journal). That is what you should have done instead of changing the redirect to point to the article about the journal. Obviously most people who link to parameters will intend the usual meaning of that word, and not the name of the journal. Redirects are supposed to help the reader, not to confuse things. League of Copyeditors roll call
editGreetings from the League of Copyeditors. Your name is listed on our members page, but we are unsure how many of the people listed there are still active contributors to the League's activities. If you are still interested in participating in the work of the League, please follow the instructions at the members page to add your name to the active members list. Once you have done that, you might want to familiarise yourself with the new requests system, which has replaced the old /proofreading subpage. As the old system is now deprecated, the main efforts of the League should be to clear the substantial backlog which still exists there. The League's services are in as high demand as ever, as evinced by the increasing backlog on our requests pages, both old and new. While FA and GA reviewers regularly praise the League's contributions to reviewed articles, we remain perennially understaffed. Fulfilling requests to polish the prose of Wikipedia's highest-profile articles is a way that editors can make a very noticeable difference to the appearance of the encyclopedia. On behalf of the League, if you do consider yourself to have left, I hope you will consider rejoining; if you consider yourself inactive, I hope you will consider returning to respond to just one request per week, or as many as you can manage. Merry Christmas and happy editing, The League of Copyeditors. |
Stage6
editA proposed deletion template has been added to the article Stage6, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of Stage6. Toddst1 (talk) 17:14, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marilyn F. O'Grady. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Image copyright problem with Image:Bologna massacre memorial.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Bologna massacre memorial.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 13:43, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Invitation to Meetup/Seattle6, a focus group
editHello. I'm part of a research group at the University of Washington (Seattle campus), and my group is reaching out to Wikipedians in the Puget Sound area. We're hosting a focus group designed to gather information on what Wikipedians would like to know about each other when interacting on Wikipedia. Our end goal is to create an embedded application that helps people quickly know more about others' history and activity on Wikipedia, and we feel our design will be much more useful if it's based on insights of users like you.
I'm hoping that the chance to help out local researchers, to engage in lively face-to-face discussion with other Seattle Wikipedians, and to contribute to Wikipedia in a new way will entice you to join us. The session lasts 2 hours and snacks are provided. Sessions will be held on UW Seattle campus - directions will be sent after registration. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated!
Willing and able to help us out? RSVP here. Want to know more? Visit our user talk page . Please help us contact other local Wikipedians, too! Commprac01 (talk) 02:00, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Audi Building
editThe article Audi Building has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Can't find any reliable source mentions of this nickname for the building.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 23:29, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Schlong Island
editPlease refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Schlong Island, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 23:30, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
Coming to you
editHave you tried to conact ConcernedVancouverite? I would actually try that first if you haven't. My issue is labeling that page as vandalism. Rusty bathtub water

- Oh, not much to tell, I'm afraid. I was living in Kiev, teaching English for a while before going to law school, and one morning the water decided to be brown and black. We realised from its lack of horrid smell that it was not sewage, and figured it must be rust of some sort. We just let it run for a while until the water was clear again. But I took a picture and put it up on Wikipedia, because that's what you do! My brother is impressed that the picture is still up, but recognizes that it is the perfect picture of rusty water. I'm glad others appreciate it! Zweifel (talk) 15:21, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

editArt+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon Despite its wide reach, content on Wikipedia suffers from the bias of its editors: white, technically inclined, English-speaking men that live in developed, majority-Christian countries. This represents an alarming absence of voices in an increasingly important repository of shared knowledge. In an effort to change this, the Jake is organizing a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon on Saturday, May 6th, 1 - 5 pm. Our mission is to bring together diverse communities to participate in Wikipedia editing, and improve its coverage of queer people and women of color in the arts. We will provide childcare, snacks, and tutorials for the beginner editor. Bring your laptop, power-cord and ideas for entries that need updating or creation. No previous Wikipedia experience required! RSVP at and stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates. Wikipedia is one of the most wide-reaching repositories of shared knowledge, yet a 2011 survey found that less than 10% of its contributors identify as female, suggesting an alarming absence of voices. What and how information is shared is skewed by this gender disparity. To help change this, the Jacob Lawrence Gallery is organizing a quarterly series of Edit-a-thons to improve Wikipedia's coverage of womxn artists of color.
This Saturday afternoon's gathering will focus on creating, editing, updating, and expanding pages for womxn artists from Latin America and the Caribbean. The Edit-a-thon will feature a talk by Dan Paz, Lecturer in the UW School of Art + Art History + Design, an artist, and an educator who explores the labor of digital imaging production as a collaborative site where the intersections of the image-idea and lived experience are produced and contested. Through videos, photography, and sculptural projects that query the ability of documentary processes to be manipulated—to be multiplied and replicated, stopped and started, rewound and advanced—Dan works within the impossibilities of absolute replication to question the very ability of the image to truly represent. Everyone is welcome. Access to UW WiFi will be provided for non-UW affiliated participants. All you need to bring is your laptop, power cord, and ideas. No previous Wikipedia experience required! Childcare, snacks from local businesses, and editing tutorials will be provided. Please check the Facebook event page for updates. When: Saturday, May 12th, 1-5pm |

Wikipedia Day 2019 — curating images from Asahel Curtis and older Seattle photos
editTuesday evening, January 15, 2019, 6-9pm at Wayward Coffeehouse, 6417 Roosevelt Way NE #104, Seattle WA 98115 Wikipedia Day celebrates the anniversary of the founding of Wikipedia. This year in Seattle, Cascadia Wikimedians' celebration of Wikipedia Day will focus on a different closely related project: Wikimedia Commons, which (among other things) functions as the media repository for Wikipedia. When you see a photo or map in Wikipedia, or hear an audio clip, etc., it usually is hosted on Wikimedia Commons and "transcluded" into Wikipedia. Wikimedia Commons is a mix of users' own works and curated third-party content, either public domain or free-licensed. Our event is a hands-on workshop in curating third-party content, mostly early 20th-century photos of Seattle and other West Coast locations. Currently, Wikimedia Commons has two intersecting sets of older photos, one from the Asahel Curtis Photo Company and the other a more general set of Seattle images. At this meetup, we will celebrate the 18th anniversary of Wikipedia by further curating these images by the creation and addition of categories, adding ImageNotes where useful, linking other versions of the same photo, enhancing the descriptions, and identifying and correcting errors. User:Jmabel has already categorized over 1000 images and corrected several hundred wrong dates, misidentified buildings, and etc., but there is much more to be done. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Meetup/Seattle#Wikipedia Day 2019 — curating images from Asahel Curtis and older Seattle photos. |

Wikipedia’s gender trouble is well-documented. In a 2011 survey, the Wikimedia Foundation found that less than 10% of its contributors were women. While the reasons for the gender gap are up for debate, the practical effect of this disparity is not: content is skewed by the lack of representation from women.
Let’s change that. To help change this, the Jacob Lawrence Gallery is continuing a series of Edit-a-thons to improve Wikipedia's coverage of womxn and gender non-binary artists of color. Childcare, snacks from local businesses, and editing tutorials will be provided. All you need to bring is your laptop, power cord, and ideas. No previous Wikipedia experience required! Everyone is welcome. Access to UW wifi will be provided for non-UW affiliated participants. Please create a Wikipedia account before the event. RSVP through this Facebook event link. BLP sanctions notice
editThis is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
