Talk:pão
I would like to link this to the Japanese word "pan" (normally spelled in hiragana), which derives from this Portuguese word. What is the best way? — Hippietrail 03:57, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- I think it should be placed under Etymology. As we get more information about words, we'll need a standardized way of setting it out, listing history, cognates, words with shared origin (not the same as cognates - I'm thinking words like cavalry-chivalry) and "descendants" (borrowings and later forms).
- Also, パン is generally spelt in katakana. --Vladisdead 06:53, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- I shall have a go at putting it in the Etymology section. Oops! "Hiragana" was a thinko! — Hippietrail 08:10, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)
