E.M.D. is a Swedish boyband consisting of Erik Segerstedt, Mattias Andréasson and Danny Saucedo. All three members have participated on the Swedish version of Idol,with Danny being in the Top 11 and Erik being a finalists of Idol 2006, and Mattias being the third runner-up of Idol 2007.
Background
State of Mind
After both Erik and Danny had released successful solo albums, they formed together with Mttias the Swedish supergroup E.M.D. They released their first single "All for Love" (wich originaly was recorded by Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart and Sting) on December 19, 2007. "All for Love" went into Swedish national record chart immediately. E.M.D. released their debut album, A State of Mind, in May 2008. The album debuted at #1 on the Swedish Album Chart and produced four domestic chart topping singles, All for Love, Jennie Let Me Love You, Alone) and after tge albums reissue Baby Goodbye.
E.M.D participated in the 2009 Melodifestivalen with the track "Baby Goodbye"[1]. They were one of the four wildcards and performed during the third semi final in Leksand, Sweden, on February 21.[2] They made it to the final, where they ended on the third place. Due to the sucess of "Baby Goodbye" the album was re-released as a deluxe edition with "Baby Goodbye" and the two new additional songs "Youngblood" (later released as a digital download single) and "I'm No Romeo".
Välkommen Hem
On November 9, 2009 E.M.D. released their second album and first holiday album Välkommen Hem, including only Swedish christmas music and the albums first and only single Välkommen Hem (original by Magnus Carlsson)on November 13, 2009. "Välkommen Hem" mars the first album by the band recorded only in Swedish. Due to that the album was sold exclusively at ICA retail stores, the album was not able to chart.[3] The single did however chart at third place at Sverigetopplistan. [4]
Rewind
E.M.D are currently in the studio recording their second studio album "Rewind". The band released the first single from the album "Save Tonight" (original by Eagle-Eye Cherry) digitally on May 28, 2010 which charted Sverigetopplistan at fifth place. [5] The single was physically released on June 16, 2010.[6] The album is set to be released on September 07, 2010.[7]
