It's called second harmonic generation (SHG), not second-generation harmonic. 2. SHG means the frequency doubles, not the wavelength. The wavelength is halved, so if at all, 450 nm is the second harmonic of 900 nm. 3. If SHG is why a camera captures IR, this should be explained in more detail. The easier explanation is a non-ideal color filter. A camera expert may judge this better. undo

That was already here when I arrived, and when talking about lighting-grade gas (99.9% pure), krypton most certainly is more expensive, so I felt no need to mess with it. (When xenon (the stranger) was first isolated, it was soon discovered it contained small amounts of another noble gas, krypton (the hidden) and they were very hard to separate.)
