Naresh Kanodia is a superstar in Gujarati cinema.[1] He is the brother of Mahesh Kanodia, another well known Gujarati musician & singer and was a member of the Vidhansabha, Gujarat. The career of Naresh Kanodia span across 4 decades and he has worked with many leading ladies including Snehlata, Aruna Irani, Roma Manek.He started his career with the film Veli ne avya phool. Some of his famous movies are Jog Sanjog, Uchi Medi na Ucha Mol, Raj Rajvan, Man saiba ni Medie, Dhola Maru, Meru Malan, Maa Baap Ne Bhulsho Nahi, Rajveer.His other films are Bhathiji Maharaj, Vanjari Vav, Tana Riri, Jugal Jodi, Raj Ratna, Keshar Chandan, Pankhida O Pankhida.He had acted in 63 Gujarati films. His son Hitu Kanodia is also famous name in current generation of Gujarati Actors. Naresh Kanodia, along with Upendra Trivedi, Asrani, Kiran Kumar represent the older generation of Gujarati Cinema who went on to give many successful movies in 1980's and 1990s.
Naresh Kanodia gets award instituted by Phalke Academy
Naresh Kanodia, the veteran Gujarati film actor, received Dadasaheb Phalke Academy award constituted from this year in a star-studded ceremony held in Mumbai last week. Kanodia was the only representative from Gujarati film industry honoured for his contribution to the cinema. The thespian said that it was a dream come true to rub shoulders with the giants of Indian cinema on the same platform.The academy awards, formed to commemorate hundred years of Indian cinema, were also conferred to likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Dilip Kumar, Saira Bano, Tanuja and Vinod Khanna amongst others.
