Staryi Uhryniv is a village in Western Ukraine. It is in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.
Staryi Uhryniv is the birthplace of the Ukrainian nationalist Stepan Bandera.
History
The first mention of Staryi Uhryniv is dated to 1447. Villagers were known to take part in the Khmelnytsky Uprising of 1648.
Birthplace of Stepan Bandera
Today Staryi Uhryniv is the most famous as the birthplace of Stepan Bandera. One of the most famous leaders of the national movement was born here on January 1, 1909.
