Storenvy is an e-commerce platform which is comprised of an online store builder and social marketplace, with over 65,000 merchants[1] selling millions of products. Since launching the marketplace in December 2012, there have been over $23 million in sales of everything from handmade goods to men’s and women’s apparel, jewelry, art, music, and home decor. Storenvy's stated purpose is to make it easy to open a custom online store, and does so by providing sellers with a digital storefront, checkout, inventory, order tracking, and more.

Services

Storenvy first launched as an online store builder in 2010. Today, store owners can open a custom store for free in a few minutes. Store upgrades include custom domain usage and super discounts, which provide stores with the flexibility to utilize a variety of discount types to attract and convert visitors into buyers. As an added benefit, when merchants open a store on Storenvy, their products are also featured in the main Marketplace, driving exposure and traffic[2]. The company’s goal is to be the go-to method for entrepreneurial brands to set up an online store, and to serve as a destination for customers to discover and shop unique, original items."

History

Jon Crawford, CEO, first had the idea for the business in 2008, while running a web design and development agency in Kansas City, Missouri. Crawford bootstrapped Storenvy and in 2010, launched the store builder that would become known as Storenvy. In early 2011, the company raised a seed round of $1.53 million[3]/. In late 2012, the Storenvy Marketplace launched with over 35,000 brands. Shortly thereafter, the company raised a Series A round, bringing total funding to over $6.5 million.
