Specious Page

[edit]

It would appear that this page has simply been put up to advertise a very new list set up on riseup.net. I do not see that it has any real content.Harrypotter 19:58, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

the page mentions the riseup list but is not about it. the content, if you had read the page, comes in in the examination of linkages between deep ecology, earth first, neo-paganism, liberation theology, anarchism, and left-nationalism. the page obviously needs work, it's not complete, but it's not an advert. if you prefer i can remove the link to the riseup list. I assume you're using this page to put together an article for WP mainspace? If so, this needs to be sourced to avoid deletion. I also assume that, if you're preparing this for mainspace, editing is welcome. I corrected a few details, but would need to know if it can be better sourced before really investing in working on it. This is fascinating I've been researching something very much along these lines for a long time, it ties in with Kropotkins writings on medieval Free Cities etc. Thanks for creating this page. Drifter bob (talk) 04:19, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with article

[edit]

This article includes all sorts thrown in, when really it needs to be much more focused around the topic, particularly as espoused by White. Leutha (talk) 17:15, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

In fact the more I look into it this article is quite specious and is an example of precisely the sort of behaviour that White is complaining about as regards White anarchism in the USA. I would suggest that this becomes a page a bout Whit's book. Leutha (talk) 18:56, 10 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

New section for postcolonial anarchism in Ireland

[edit]

In the section 'African Anarchism', a subsection 'Post-colonial anarchism in Ireland' is there, though it talks about European, not African anarchism. Therefore I think a new section should be made for the subsection, titled 'Post-colonial anarchism in Ireland'; perhaps the new section can focus on postcolonial anarchism in other European countries. Scope

[edit]

As mentioned above, the article remains a hodgepodge of various concepts—White's oeuvre, Black anarchism, and various subaltern groups as might be related to anarchism—rather than any unified coverage of a singular concept of "postcolonial anarchism". If the primary sources and original research are removed, there wouldn't be much left. Does anyone have additional reliable, secondary sources? czar 03:39, 17 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Czar: Come back across this just now and wow, this really was an exemplary coatrack article wasn't it? I've cut down on the unrelated fluff and added some relevant sources to the further reading, although in practice, I'm not sure how useful they'll end up being for building out an article. I think this may have just been another case of an "X anarchism" term getting used to add disparate, unrelated concepts onto; it doesn't look like it has had much use in scholarly literature outside of references to White's work. Perhaps it's worth considering a merge/deletion discussion. --Grnrchst (talk) 14:49, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Are there any secondary sources about Roger White? Perhaps that can be covered in another article to preserve some of this content. Otherwise, and if there's nothing about "postcolonial anarchism" as a school of thought in the extra sources, merge/deletion looks like the way forward. czar 15:06, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Czar: About White himself? I can't seem to find much. Most sources I can find just cite the book or quote from it. If there's enough sources, maybe retooling this article into one about the book could work? --Grnrchst (talk) 14:49, 13 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I was thinking one about his book but in a cursory search I didn't find enough for an article. czar 17:46, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
