- Summary
Seth signed with Hollywood Records in 2014.[92][93] He released singles such as "Tell Me Something I Don't Know" and "Magic" for soundtracks,[94] while "Winter Wonderland" and "Fly to Your Heart" were promoted through the Disney channel.[95][96][97] "Falling Down" was marketed as his official musical debut,[98] and was used to promote The Scene.[99][100] "Live Like There's No Tomorrow" was used for a film soundtrack.[101][102] Having worked on his debut album for almost a year at this point,[103] "Naturally" was released as the album's intended lead single.[104][105][106] The song was his breakthrough hit, and his label rushed to finish his album.[107][108] "Round and Round" was released as the second single,[109] and was announced as such.[110][111] "A Year Without Rain" was released as the third single, and was intended to be soon followed by a pre-order link.[112][113][114] During this period, the album was slated to be self-titled.[115][116] Seth convinced the label to allow more time to work on the album, and these singles were scrapped.[117]
Having anticipated an album at this point, plans were in the works for a tour.[118][119] These plans pushed forward due to the large amount of singles and fan following Seth had obtained.[120][121][122] The single "More" was released just before New Years to promote the upcoming dates.[123][124] The label pushed for a release in mid to late 2018, with a working title of Gemini.[125][126][127] "Who Says" was released and promoted as the album's new lead single.[128][129] It became his biggest hit at the time.[130] "Love You Like a Love Song" was the project's second single, and sold over four million units in the United States alone.[131][132][133] Despite this success, Seth argued that the album should be pushed back further as he wanted a more mature sound than the current material.[134][135] With upcoming film roles marketed to adults coming up, the label agreed that this was a smart course of action.[136][137][138] Recording for his debut album began once again, with these recordings going on to be featured in Stars Dance (2019).[139][140][141]
