You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for showing a battleground mentality and a general unwillingness to work in a collegial fashion. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Salvio Let's talk about it! 23:50, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

My activity on en:Wikipedia mainly consists in writing articles in my sandbox where there is no battleground at all. Those articles are biographies of notable French engineers and chief executives (living) and professional descriptions of the French engineering system. I feel - rightly or wrongly - that I am a little bit knowledgeable in this field. I have made use of the AFC reviewing process which shows no special battleground mentality.

5 of my articles have been accepted, one of them already nominated for some criteria for level B. As you can see 21 articles are in my sandbox "to be improved", either rejected by the AFC process, or not yet ready to be put in the AFC reviewing process. In another subpage of my sand box I am categorizing French engineers by Corps, by school and by specialty.

Please have a look ; this is a huge piece of work, all the more since I am doing this in parallel for the French, German, Russian, Swedish Wikipedias. My account Euroflux is exclusively dedicated to Aerospace engineering and Economics of innovation ; this is a "professional" account. As a human person, I have many other fields of interest, languages, anthropology, ethnonoly, religion, freediving, but I forbid myself to edit in those other fields in order to avoid confusion. I discovered only very recently the potentiality of the "sandbox" and as you can see I am now mainly active in my sandbox and its subpages. By definition and by construction there may be no conflict in my sandboxes since I am the only user, if I understood right the Wikipedia rules. As you can see, I created other subpages of my sandbox for aeronautics industry and for economics of innovation, all of those sandbox subpages being built in parallel for at least the English, French, German, Russian, Swedish Wikipedia.

I had been asked last August on the German Wikipedia to make a global presentation of my categorizing trees but I had been unable to do this at that time partly due to the language and due to the fact as well that I did not master at that time the “sandbox”. As a result, the de:Kategorie:Luft- und Raumfahrtingenieur (= Category:Aerospace engineers), existing in 25 different Wikis…) had been removed. Amazingly enough, this category had been assessed appropriate, but it had to be removed because there had not been a prior consensus obtained before. The de:Kategorie:Raumfahrtagentur (= Category:Space agencies), had been removed as well ; the argument that this category exists in 45 different wikis had not been considered sufficient. Germans consider that it is irrelevant whether the category is correct or not. They focus on the process ; the de:Kategorie:Raumfahrtagentur (= Category:Space agencies) should have been decided with consensus.

My working in my sandboxes is therefore an excellent way to avoid any kind of conflict. I am working very fast and this speed frightens people a little bit. If I work directly on the categorizing tree, it is too quick for people to understand. On the 30th of July I was blocked on the French Wikipedia because some people thought that I was making a wrong tree. They were no category “specialists”. After my blocking, a “category” specialist examined my categories and he stated that 95% was correct ; the only removed categories were “Ingénieur aéronautique français vivant” (living) and “Ingénieur aéronautique français décédé” (deceased).

I recently broke my own rule of "only aeronautics and economics of innovation". I wrote the biography of Alain Bugat, a former boss of mine. He had undergone the reviewing process and had been accepted. The banner “Autobiography” was added on his page, which was rather insulting for me. I felt insulted and this made me think immediately of the biography of Florence Devouard. If you have a look at the French Talk page of Florence Devouard's biography, and if you can read French, the autobiographical character is pretty obvious. It took me 30 seconds to add the banner "Autobiography" on FD's page and it was over ! I went back to my work. I would never had put the banner "Autobiography" on Florence Devouard's page if this banner had not been put previously on Alain Bugat's biography !

The problem is that the banner "Autobiography" was removed in a rough, almost threatening way... Guillaume2303 called this a "personal attack" against Florence Devouard, which forced me to justify the banner... I would never have written these long justifications if I had not been requested to ! I just made the remark that this shows a double standard policy on Wikipedia... Tougher rules regarding "notability" are applied to people outside Wikipedia than to insiders.

This was an obvious big mistake of mine to add the "Autobiography" banner on FD's bio. It was an obviously sensitive issue, almost a “blasphemy”, and it is none of my business.

Again I 99% work in my sandbox on my articles, and on my categorizing trees for French engineers, Aeronautics industry, and Economics of innovation.

My newly acquired working method allows me to work very fast and in a peaceful context since on my sandbox, I am not obliged to justify every step of this long lasting work. My work is done in a meta-wiki perspective.

I really have no objection to every Wikimedia employee having their biography on Wikipedia ; again, my adding the “Autobiography” banner was nothing but a reaction to Alain Bugat receiving this banner. And my long justifications were done on request.

I request to get the possibility to continue my long lasting work in my sandboxes. The value of this work has already been at least partially demonstrated. Euroflux (talk) 15:03, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

After reading this discussion about you on AN/I and seeing your behavior in this CfD there is absolutely nothing in your request above that leads me to believe that you will behave yourself from now on. — Hex (❝?!❞) 09:45, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

French engineers by corps, by school, by specialty - Multilingual interwiki categorization

This is an attempt to categorize in an interwiki perspective French engineers according to

  1. the Corps (Mines, Ponts, Télécom, Armement, GREF, INSEE)
  2. the Alma Mater (Polytechnique, Centrale, Mines, Ponts, Télécom, Supélec, Supaéro, ENSTA, Arts et Métiers,...)
  3. the specialty (aerospace, materials, mechanics, nuclear, telecommunications, agronomy, economics).

A "French engineer" is a person who has or had a strong interaction with "French engineering". Wernher von Braun was a German engineer who built the famous V2 rockets during WW2. He was then taken to Germany and became the father of the US space programme (Apollo,...). He is therefore a German engineer + an American engineer, no matter whether he officially obtained or not the US citizenship. Hermann Östrich is likewise a German + French engineer being the father of the famous French aircraft engine fr:ATAR. en:Alfred Belpaire, the famous locomotive engineer can be regarded as a "French engineer" ; he was a Walloon (ethnical French from Belgium) but he did his whole engineering training at en:Ecole Centrale Paris. Mehdi Bazargan came very young to France, did the tough preparatory classes in France and was - maybe - admitted at Centrale. He spent 6 years in Paris and when he went back to Iran he created the first Thermodynamics lab in Iran, most probably with a big help of France. He might have never been officially granted with the French citizenship - but who knows ? - , but no doubt that he can be regarded as a "French engineer", no matter whether he really "did" centrale, or was a "visitor", or whatever... All those Algerians, Moroccans, Tunesians doing an engineering school in France, and then working in a French company can be regarded as "French engineers", even if they might not officially have the French citizenship. "French engineer" is an "operational" concept strictly connected to "French engineering" ; it is not an administrative nor ethnical concept ! I guess there won't be any nuclear war between Iran and France is Mehdi Bazargan resides in the "French engineers" category !

The pages (categories and articles) written in bold + italics characters have been created by me or are in the process of creation. Some might have been destroyed, but might be created again.

Languages are given in the following order :

  1. English, French, German, Swedish, Russian,
  2. Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese,
  3. Arabic, Farsi, Urdu.
