Yazoo

[edit]

If a bio is tagged with [[Category:People from Yazoo City, Mississippi]], is it not automatically thus included in [[Category:People from Yazoo County, Mississippi]], as the city list is a subset of the county list? Qqqqqq (talk) 04:36, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Response to Yazoo

[edit]

Like you, I also thought that if a person is listed under a city he/she is automatically listed under the county, but when I looked at the "People from Yazoo County" category, only one name was there (Thelma or Theda somebody), not even the more famous names, like "Willie Morris" came under that category until I listed them under that category a few minutes ago.

And since other people all over the country are listed individually under their counties, I didn't think it inappropriate to fill out the Yazoo County category that already existed.

Are you telling me to stop? Lydia Larkin (talk) 04:47, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Thanks very much for your quick reply. That's strange. No, I'm not suggesting that you stop, if the category wasn't working properly, as you say. Although it looks like the city category is tagged/listed as a constituent or subcategory of the county category. I'm not sure why it wouldn't be displaying correctly. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
