65th season in franchise history
The 2024 season is the Buffalo Bills ' 55th in the National Football League (NFL), their 65th overall, their tenth full season under the ownership of Terry and Kim Pegula , and their eighth under the head coach /general manager tandem of Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane .
This will be their first season since 2019 without wide receiver Stefon Diggs , as he was traded to the Houston Texans . The team also released several veterans such as center Mitch Morse , cornerback Tre'Davious White , and safety Jordan Poyer , several players who had been key contributors during the McDermott era, among others.

However, the win was overshadowed by Tagovailoa suffering a concussion after running into contact with safety Damar Hamlin . The Bills continued strong in Week 3 on Monday Night Football. The Defense line only allowed Jacksonville to score one field goal and a touchdown in the game, with Trevor Lawrence thrown a ball that was intercepted by Damar Hamlin, for Hamlin's first interception. Additionally. Keon Coleman and Ray Davis scored their first career NFL touchdowns during the game with Coleman catching a 24-yard pass from Josh Allen, while Davis ran for a 3-yard touchdown. Additionally Davis was among the three starting Bills halfbacks who scored a touchdown during the game with James Cook and Ty Johnson, increasing their record 3-0.

After three consecutive wins to open the season the Bills took a sour loss from the Ravens with the defense unable to contain Derrick Henry , but were able force a few turnovers in the second half of the game. The offense also had trouble, turning over the ball several times, culminating the Bills' first loss of the 2024 season, falling 3-1.
