Ballon-Saint Mars (French pronunciation: [balɔ̃ sɛ̃ maʁ]) is a commune in the department of Sarthe, western France. The municipality was established on 1 January 2016 by merger of the former communes of Ballon and Saint-Mars-sous-Ballon.[3]

History

The creation of the new commune of «Ballon-Saint Mars» was decided by a vote of the municipal councils of the communes of Ballon and Saint-Mars-sous-Ballon on 25 June 2015, after several months of negotiations.[4]
