Neri is an attorney-at-law from the State of New York. He received his law degree from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (1992). He obtained a Master's degree in Comparative Jurisprudence from New York University (1994), a degree in Business Management from the New York University Stern School of Business (1995) and a diploma in Business Negotiation (Oxford University, 2006).[3] Since 2015 he has chaired the EIG Multimedia Group and is editor-in-chief of Cambio 16 magazine, founded in 1971.

In 2022, after a legal dispute that began in 2013 following the acquisition of the Diario16 trademark, the Trademark Court of the European Union ruled in favour of Jorge Neri and the EIG Multimedia Group and against Manuel Domínguez and the company Multimedia Ediciones Globales for bad faith, ordering the cancellation of the Diario16 trademark and the www.diario16.com domain.[4][5] The case was taken to the Supreme Court, which rejected the appeal, with a judgment of 16 October 2024, settling the dispute in favour of Neri and EIG Multimedia Group.[6]

As director of the magazine Cambio16, he has been responsible for the promotion of environmental and humanist content and the creation of the "You are my hope" awards.[7]In 2023 he created the Fundación Cambiemos, a platform for personal, social and environmental change. The foundation was presented in Madrid in 2023 with the intervention of Sadhguru, Indian spiritual leader and environmental advocate, and Mario Alonso Puig, medical doctor and expert in emotional intelligence.[8]

He was named one of the 100 Most Committed Latinos to Climate Action in 2020 and 2021 by the Florida-based NGO Sachamama.[9] In 2020, he received the World Jurist Association Award for his defence of democracy and freedom of expression.[10] In 2022, he received the Climate Positive Awards 2022 from Green Cross UK at the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference.[2]
