Justyna Maria Steczkowska (Polish pronunciation: [juˈstɨna stɛt͡ʂˈkɔfska]; born August 2, 1972) is a Polish singer, songwriter, photographer, and actress.
Biography
[edit]She was raised in a large and musically inclined family. Justyna has five sisters (Agata, Krystyna, Magdalena, Maria, Cecylia) and three brothers (Paweł, Jacek, Marcin), and played violin in a family band before becoming a solo singer. She has a four-octave vocal range.[2]
Steczkowska came to prominence in 1994 when she won a television talent show A Chance for Success with her performance of Maanam's song "Buenos Aires". She represented Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest 1995 with the song "Sama" ("Alone"), finishing in 18th place. Steczkowska is a recipient of numerous awards including six Fryderyk Awards and a Bronze Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Culture. She starred in two films: Billboard and Na koniec świata ("To the End of the World").
She was a runner-up in season six of the Polish version of Dancing with the Stars in 2007, and co-hosted the Polish version of Dancing on Ice in 2008.
She was a coach on The Voice of Poland in seasons 2, 4–5, and 12–14, and two of her contestants won in the competition.
In 2024, she finished second in Poland's national selection for Eurovision 2024 with the song "Witch-er Tarohoro ".[3]
