Project 7 (Korean: 프로젝트7) is an ongoing South Korean reality competition survival show created by JTBC. It premiered on JTBC on October 18, 2024, and airs every Friday at 20:30 (KST).
Concept
[edit]Project 7 is a differentiated new concept idol audition program that introduces the concept of 'assembly, reinforcement', where viewers move away from the perspective of observers who only participate through voting and directly select participants for each round from the first round, form new teams, and develop their favorite participants through this process.[1]
Voting system
[edit]The official website and Weverse app are the primary platforms to vote for the contestants.[2]
Background and production
[edit]The program is co-directed by Ma Gun-young and Chae Sung-wook. It was co-produced by Studio Slam and SLL.[1]
On April 20, 2024, JTBC revealed teasers inviting any male to apply for the show. The program will be produced by the creators of Sing Again and will air in the second half of 2024.
The theme song, "Run (Up To You)" (Korean: 달려 (Up To You)) was released on September 24, 2024, accompanied by a performance of the song the next day revealing Sakurada Kenshin as the center.[3]
Lee Soo-hyuk, was recruited as Project 7 host.[4] The panel also includes Lee Hae-in, Ha Sung-woon, Bada Lee, Hi-Hat Entertainment performance director Ryu D, as well as prominent songwriter and producer Ryan S. Jhun.[5]
