NAG, NAG, NAG

[edit]

AEG also had a car div, Neue Automobil Gesellschaft (NAG). In 1908, it sold cars called Darling & Puck (BION), & 1931's 212, designed by Paul Henze (1 of top Ger car designers) intro the V8 (a 4540cc) to Ger car mkt. Trekphiler 13:45, 24 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to create the article yourself. Removed the split tag, as it's more a request for a new article than a split of this as such. Bjelleklang - talk 11:26, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Electricity ? Electric ?

[edit]

Elektrizitaets in this particular instance actually means Electric and not Electricity.

I moved this comment from the article to here. It would be a valuable contibution if someone with a good command of German could clear this up (and modify the English translation of the name if needed). Thanks. - Fils du Soleil 01:41, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A minor question

[edit]

OK, I don't know if it's this company or the microphone company AKG, but when I watch anything WW2-related or read any WW2-related books, this tends to pop up over and over again in the acknowledgements list (or "Special Thanks To" in the credits of films/documentaries) for archival footage/photographs pertaining to this period. Which of the AEG companies would hold the company archive that would hold that type of WW2-related stuff? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.34.193.158 (talk) 01:11, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

AEG 1939 - 1945

[edit]

Surely AEG did more in the Second World War than is stated in the article? The obsession with slave labour and concentration camps, stinks of a very serious bias. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.173.26.51 (talk) 14:02, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In 1994 : AEG meets Westinghouse

[edit]

If you see, in the article “Breda VLC” in the french version of WP, he said AEG Westinghouse 1504 A, an motor made in italy or made in germany/USA made in 1994 for these 24 trainsets with one prototram like these ! ÉOLE79000 (talk) 20:09, 11 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reparations

[edit]

I'm not happy with Stephenamills's change from "In an effort to express regret" to "In a perceived effort to express regret". It smacks of editorialising, see MOS:DOUBT. AEG corporately did express regret whatever the editor's views about the individuals concerned. I'm reverting the change, bring any discussion here. Trustpilot rating needs to be removed

[edit]

I think the trustpilot rating needs to be removed, or at least clarified and moved from the introduction. There are at least three reasons:

  • It is unclear from the wording which products this refers to. I suppose it is appliances, but it is not clear. Since the brand is now used, as stated, by a variety of companies with different backgrounds (some with in-house R&D and manufacturing, others merely labelling imports) there can be no single rating for "AEG". AEG as such is no more, so I cannot have a rating.
  • Assuming this is for appliances, it seems pretty much typical. Bosch has 1.5 (assuming this is for appliances, Worcester Bosch has 4.6) and even Miele (which is a top brand and a lot more expensive than AEG) has 1.3 in Sweden and Belgium (but 1.7 in Germany and 4.2 in the UK). Those ratings seem a bit odd, and the AEG rating isn't untypical. Furthermore, I doubt the users know what they do, I am sure lots of people who bought a cheap, chinese-made "AEG" lightbulb for a few pennies and are surprised they don't last, put in a comment for "AEG".
  • I cannot find similar entries for other companies, at least not in the introduction.

In short, this is misleading. I am in no way affiliated with AEG or Electrolux and I would probably not buy an AEG appliance since they closed almost all of their factories in Germany (and yes, I tend to spend my money locally if possible), but this is not appropriate.--2001:BB8:2002:2400:B409:ECC5:6FAF:ADC8 (talk) 15:42, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
