"Herbicides do not cling well to it and are therefore not as effective." This seems nonsensical to me so I've marked it as needing citation. P L Logan (talk) 15:28, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is due to the 'waxy' covering of the green stalks, and has been noted as one of the problems of using herbicides to control the plant when it is considered a pest species.HammerFilmFan (talk) 13:49, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Onion grass?

[edit]

I believe this is the plant widely called "onion grass". This is a very common lawn weed in the USA; there is much confusion as to the proper botanical name but I believe it is this species although the article makes no reference to this common name. EDIT: Wiktionary seems to confirm: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/onion_grass 160.111.254.17 (talk) 13:20, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
