Removed 'vandalism' (kinda?)

[edit]

I reverted back to an older edit, since the last two edits weren't really how a controversy should be described (I'd say something less attacking under 'Controversies' would be more fitting). Araoro (talk) 01:53, 25 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, can you remember what the two controversies were? Also, why would you delete them? Couldn’t you just edit them to be more in tune with how you think “controversy should be described”? In light of recent events concerning Balenciagra and the child porn case papers on the table of a photo shoot with a child holding a teddy bear, those controversies may show a pattern. It’s essential the public is made aware of such significant trends from a major retail department. Disciple4lif (talk) 09:53, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at the edit history,[1] it concerned fashion designer Tra My Nguyen accusing Balenciaga of stealing her idea. Given there are several reliable sources discussing it,[2] I support putting it back in. 70.163.208.142 (talk) 15:16, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The child pornography stuff..

what the fuck 87.120.248.7 (talk) 00:17, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Can you elaborate? Are you shocked at the photo shoot? Disciple4lif (talk) 09:54, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Is the reference to the case law accurate? The clearest image I can find seems to be of an early version of United States v. Williams, 553 U.S. 285 (2008). In the authorised PDF version, p 293 (PDF p 354) shows the same text. EUNlCE talkcontributions 07:58, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Could we illustrate the article with one of the images? The wording doesn't make justice on how this was so controversial. I know copyright is an issue but there's plenty of fair use cases across Wikipedia when it's newsworthy this one has been used for a lot of news articles already. Punctuation.

[edit]

There should be a comma after Franco as it is a non-defining clause Historians believe that Balenciaga's continued activity during the Nazi occupation of Paris was made possible by Balenciaga's connections with Spanish dictator General Francisco Franco, who was Adolf Hitler's close ally — Preceding unsigned comment added by SolinQu (talkcontribs) 14:11, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Battle against the Chambre

[edit]

In "Battle against the Chambre" it is claimed that Balenciaga couture was never a member of the chambre syndicale de la haute couture. However, other sources (Vogue, WWD and DN-mag; also Haute couture) claim that Balenciaga was a full member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture until 1957. Unsure how to proceed.
